The Selfless Sandman

1.) Describe your character’s relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?

- Marius grew up in a middle class family with a working father and a stay-at-home mother. He grew up in a painfully normal neighbourhood, with other kids his age living nearby. He liked to play with his father’s things when he wasn’t around, like dress up in his hats and sit at his desk pretending to write important letters. His dad didn’t mind.


2.) What are your characters most prominent physical features?

- I’d say his blue hair might be pretty prominent…


3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?

- He might have a few scars on his chest from training with good ‘ol Xelege, but they probably aren’t very obvious.


4.) How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

- Xari couldn’t care less about how he looks, unless of course he’s with somebody he likes and/or doesn’t want to embarrass. He normally wouldn’t even brush his hair after waking up but if he was visiting worlds with Nix or meeting a superior he’d clean himself up.


5.) What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?

- Kinsey whut? *looks it up* Oooooh. I’d say Xari falls (on a scale of 1-5) at one or two. He isn’t homophobic, he just likes girls.


6.) Describe your character’s happiest memory.

- Uhhhh… happy… meeting the other Org members? Playing with his cat back home? He’s very content with his life, and doesn’t have a particular favourite memory.


7.) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?

- Turning into a Nobody. He doesn’t particularly mind it, but he doesn’t like that he can’t bring his cat into the castle. It has to stay with a neighbour when he can’t visit it.


9.)  Who does your character trust?

- ALL OF THEM. Xari is very trusting, but in particular he trusts the Superiors and Nix~

10.) Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable.

- Becoming a Nobody would be a biggy…

11.) Is there an animal you equate with your character?

- Sloths. He’s lazy but ( if I may say so myself) lovable.


12.) How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?

- Xari would write letters for two main reasons. Reason one is he grew up with paper and pen, so he’s more comfortable with it. Reason two is he can type about as fast as a sleepy turtle.


13.) What does your character’s bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?

- Monday: Blanket wrapped around him so he looks like some strange caterpillar.

- Tuesday: No blanket. It’s on the floor or between the bed and the wall.

- Wednesday: On top of the blanket.

- Thursday: Tangled in blanket… as if he was having a fight with it and lost.

- Friday: Feet sticking out, from trying to stretch and keep his face covered at the same time.

-Saturday: Blanket, but no sheet. He probably kicked it off in his sleep.

- Sunday: Sheet, but no blanket. Strange how these things happen…

-14.)  How does your character react to temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold?

- Hot: Gets really sluggish and sleepy

- Cold: Whines a lot and looks for an ugly sweater to wear.

15.) Is your character an early morning bird or a night owl?

- Xari is constantly at that state where he can function normally, but if he lies down or closes his eyes too long he falls asleep. maybe it’s some strange side effect of his power… maybe he’s just lazy.

17.) What’s your character’s desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?

- His desk is a disaster area. It’s covered with books about dancing and body-building and dozens of knitting guides. He usually has a half-written report gathering dust and dozens of broken pencils he hasn’t bothered sharpening.


18.) Is your character a good cook? What’s their favorite recipe, whether they’re good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)

- When Xari cooks, bad things happens. He either falls asleep while it’s cooking and it burns to a crisp, or he under cooks it because he’s worried it’ll burn. He likes simple things, like bread and jam. It doesn’t involve stoves and it’s sweet.


20.) Does your character have any irrational fears?

- Xari is scared nobody will like him. He knows he can be childish at times, and he takes every bit of constructive criticism as somebody announcing they hate him. He always tries to stay on people’s good side and hates getting into fights. Because of this he tries to meet many new people so he has a better chance of staying on somebody’s good side.


21.) What would your character’s  cutie mark be?

- Cutie mark? *looks it up* Ugh. So many ponies. It would probably be an hour- DARN YOU DOCTOR WHOOVES! You stole my hourglass! *rage quits*


22.) If your character could time travel, where would they go?

- To the past, and when Xelege is making the ‘No Pets’ rule he’d viciously maul him. Then to the present, to see if it worked, then to the future to see if he made a fool of himself at the Winter Ball.


23.) Is your character superstitious?

- A bit… he won’t freak out of he steps on a crack or happens to see a black cat, but he still is aware of the superstitions.


24.) What might your character’s ideal romantic partner be?

- Kind, nice to be around, likes cats, can cook, doesn’t mind him sleeping all day, isnamedNixleas and likes travel.


25.) Describe your character’s hands. Are they small, long, calloused, smooth, stubby?

- Not calloused or cut up, but with bruises from knitting or using his weapon. He has rather slender hands.


28.) If your character’s life was a genre, what would it be?

- Comedy.


29.) How does your character smell? Do they wear perfume or cologne?

- Hmm… either he’s trying to wear cologne and has a suffocating aura of cinnamon, or he smells like laundry.


30.) And finally: Write a letter to your character, from yourself.

MAN UP! You’ve got to stop worrying about how people view you and start worrying about actually improving your skills and abilities! Also, about that scarf you were trying to make, I suggest you try a different shade of green. It looks like mould.
